Saturday night hair washing pt. 2

My hair taken down from the twist and new shampoo! See ladies, with TLC and understanding your hair can grow and actually healthy!

Saturday night hair washing.

I love to wash my hair but been looking for a shampoo that I can handle w/o sulfates. I found Loreal EverStrong Sulfate-Free shampoo. Now I can wash and feel better about not having the sulfur stripping down the natural oils in your hair. I'm trying this product out, I give you guys the thumbs up or down. Also my hair is just growing!!! I took out my two strand twist and geez getting longer and longer. Natural hair is the way to go!!! And I totally love it! :)

Pictures of my natural hair from July- October 2010

The new look!

My new look is my lovely TWA (teeny weeny afro) and I love it! Yes I went natural back in July. I cut ALL of my relaxed ends while transitioning. My last relaxer was around the week of my birthday (March 8th) and sew-in weave two weeks after that.

You'll probably wondering why did she go back to "Nappy?"

I was sick and tired of my hair doing the same damn thing, grows past my ear and on some parts breaks off bad. go back and get it done and have to "reshape it' to look right. My hair can get long past my shoulder but I always had breakage and too much shedding. Went through process of elimination my problem: Scheduling relaxer 8-10 weeks instead of 4 weeks, sleeping with a satin scarf or pillow, using products that 'suppose' use natural blends, washing it once a week, deep conditioning, position my sleeping. The list goes on and on. What got my goat, is my weave. Look good (posted on here) but itched like crazy!!! Not even a good two weeks I've taking it out and looked at my hair. Lifeless, dull, breakage, extreme shedding and haven't grown a good inch in 2 months.

What did I do?

I researched natural hair styles and care. Though I was still in limbo about this, I still wasn't convinced. So I said "Take this step" I didn't relaxed in April and I got braids in May to grow my new growth. Okay now what? Find a product that will help your transition. I ordered a trial sizes of Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding and Supersweet Back d/c pudding. Good products but they made my hair slightly dry and crunchy. So I wasn't too convinced about these products until I found HealthyHairJourney.com. I read through the month of July. I cut my last relaxed ends and boy did I look funny! I've seen my natural curl pattern and I liked it. I haven't had my natural hair since 3rd grade (Jheri Curls was tha shit!) and I seen the "Old Keeshia" dimming out of my eyes. I knew this was gonna be the journey that I will never forget!

Now:
I'm extremeeeelllyyyy happy with my hair and loving myself more. I found a good product HydraTherma Naturals been using since September and smells wonderful. It's founded by a beautiful black woman, Saleemah Cartwright who like every black woman have too many problems and issues with their hair. Going natural was the best thing I did for myself. I take care of my hair better than I did when I got relaxers, weaves, braids and such. I have more pride in myself because I'm representing a small group of natural hair sistas in this area. Oh I found out my problem: I suffer from OCD and Trichotillomania, neurological disorder, meaning I'm a hair puller and been pulling since a toddler. Crazy, aye!

So if anyone have a question, tips, concerns or shout-out feel free!!

Thanks!

I'm back!

hey everyone! I'm back from Hell!!! LOL
